Big news for coastal energy resilience! 🌊⚡
We’re proud to share that Cedar Key, Key West, and Sanibel have all been selected as part of the fifth cohort of the Energy Technology Innovation Partnership Project (ETIPP) — a U.S. Department of Energy initiative led by the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) that helps coastal, remote, and island communities strengthen energy reliability and affordability.
Our staff Jake Leech will provide technical assistance to these communities as they assess local energy systems, explore cost-effective solutions for improving reliability, and build strategies that protect critical services and community well-being. This marks SSDN’s second year providing technical assistance to communities in the Gulf Coast to improve energy resilience.
This work reflects our commitment to supporting community-driven innovation and resilience across Florida’s coastal regions and we’re excited to see these projects take shape.
