SSDN Kicks Off Strategic Planning Refresh with Member Input Opportunities

SSDN underwent its first strategic planning process in 2018, and adopted its first strategic plan in 2019. This came at a critical step in the network, with staff transitions, membership growth, and new program development. This plan was meant to guide the network forward for 3-5 years. Because of the enormous changes and challenges that have surfaced in the past 18 months, SSDN will refresh our strategic plan in 2022. This member-driven process will begin this week, and will conclude in late February/early March.

To inform this plan, all members have been invited to join focus group sessions, led by SSDN’s Steering Committee members. The purpose of these input sessions is to hear from members about their experiences with SSDN, what they think SSDN is doing very well, and where you think there is opportunity for growth in the coming 3-5 years.

Eliza Phillips, SSDN’s Development and Capacity Building Consultant, will be joining the focus group calls to listen and take notes, to inform the next strategic direction. No SSDN staff will participate in these calls, but if you prefer to provide input anonymously, please reach out to Executive Director Meg Jamison and we will accommodate you.

Members will also have the opportunity to provide feedback on the 2022 Kick Off Call on Friday, January 7 at 10am ET/9am CT; as well as via our 2022 Capacity Building Survey, which goes out on January 4, 2022.
