Project Purpose

This project is collaboratively developing a sustainable business challenge for ten communities to implement. This group of communities are modifying a web-based platform currently used by Nashville’s Mayor’s Neighborhood and Workplace Challenge program. Nashville’s successful web-based Challenge platform markets the program, provides a user-friendly interface for participant input, allows administrators to track and score participants, and recognizes progress. This project will develop an open source version of Nashville’s website that can be easily customized and utilized by any local government.

Outputs from the Project

  • An implementation manual which will include information on the following:
  • A Day to day implementation guide, including road maps and sample work plans
  • Marketing and sponsorship development guidelines
  • Program and website administration
  • Resources for activity content, sponsorship packages, recognition awards and impact metric calculators
  • Report summarizing results and lessons learned after one year
